Young Arts Heather Wigoder 07485 160409 is the representative for Young Arts Art in the Community: Supporting Young Artists On Friday February 7th 2020 Arts for Rutland organised the Rutland Youth Open Art Exhibition which previewed at Rutland Museum in Oakham. Local student artists between the ages of 11 to 18 were invited to submit entries on the theme of ‘Into the Light’. The Arts Society Rutland have supported this event for the last five years and Heather Wigoder, ‘Young Arts/Arts in the Community’ coordinator judged prize winners from the three different age categories: 11-13, 14-16 and 16-18. Gay Woodley, Chairman and President of the society presented the cash prizes and trophies to the winners in each category at the preview. The event was attended by the Lord Lieutenant of Rutland, Dr Sarah Furness. 11-13 Yasmin Watt 14-16 Archie Burrows 16-18 Hannah Thomson The Arts Society Rutland at the 4th Rutland Youth Open Art Exhibition February 2019 The Arts Society Rutland’s Young Arts Coordinator Diana Corps presented a cheque for £25 each to three local school students and a trophy engraved with their name on January 25th 2019. There were three categories: 11-13 14-15 16-18 The three students who were awarded the prize money were: Mara Bradbury –Harrold: 11 -- ‘Deers in your eyes’ –watercolour Shannon Bourne: 15 --‘Open your eyes’ -- biro, marker pens Ted Brown: 17 – ‘Departing Soul’ – acrylic Arts4Rutland sponsored the exhibition which ran from January 25th to February 23rd at the Rutland Museum, Oakham.
